Candy Cane Sign – Free SVG File

December 1, 2019 By //  by Hannah 18 Comments

DIY Candy Cane Sign Free SVG FileI can’t believe that it’s already December 1st and I’m just now posting my first holiday DIY project! I decided to decorate my kitchen for the holidays this year and as part of that project I made a DIY Candy Cane sign for above my sink.  Today I’m sharing the free SVG file with all of you so that you can make this super cute sign too!

I used a single 1×8 board to make my sign and cut the length to 24″.  I then trimmed it out with unfinished 1×2 pine board.  If you add a frame like I did, make sure that you use wood glue along with brad nails.

Here is a breakdown of the supplies that you will need for this project.  This post contains affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will make a commission if you click through and make a purchase.  Thanks for the support!

Materials

1×8 Board (24″ length needed)

1×2 board for trim.  A 72″ long piece would be enough.

Acrylic Paint

Paint Brushes

Vinyl Cutting Machine

Wood glue

Brad nails

Tools

Miter Saw

Brad Nailer

Tape Measure

Pencil

Ear Protection

Eye Protection

Dust Mask

You’ll need a Vinyl Cutting Machine to create the stencils.  I have a Silhouette Cameo but any vinyl cutting machine will work.  You could either apply the vinyl letters and candy canes as is or weed out the words and candy canes to make a stencil and paint it the color of your choice.  I wanted a fully painted sign so I used the SVG file to make a stencil for my sign.

You can download the candy cane sign free SVG file by clicking here.
