Why I Love the Golden Latte
By now I think that everyone has heard of the golden latte. While many rave about the anti-inflammatory benefits of this drink associated with the turmeric and ginger, I can honestly say that I drink it because I love the way it tastes. There is something about the golden latte that is just so soothing and relaxing. It’s the perfect drink just before bedtime to help clear your mind and the best part is that it’s extremely easy to make!
My recipe uses all ground spices since I always have those stocked in my kitchen. I left the ingredients a bit vague and listed non-dairy milk because I’ve made it with almond milk, coconut milk and an almond cashew milk blend and it tastes wonderful with any of those options. I tend to gravitate toward the vanilla flavored milk since it adds a little sweetness but if you want the sweetness without the sugar, you can actually use medjool dates to add it naturally. I’ve seen others recommend to blend it all together but I’m lazy so I just cut the dates into very small pieces and throw them in the pan with everything else. If I can avoid having to clean my blender, the few chunks in my drink are worth it to me. Just pretend that it’s some sort of warm bubble tea 😉

- 2 cup Non dairy milk
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tbsp coconut oil
Add all ingredients to a small sauce pan and whisk together.
Heat on medium to high heat and continue whisking the mixture until it blends together.
Just before it starts to boil, take it off the heat and serve.
The only downside to this drink is that the turmeric will stain EVERYTHING and by everything I mean absolutely everything so be super careful making this if you have light colored natural stone counters like me.
